Is BTL Exilis Ultra treatment safe?
The BTL Exilis Ultra is very safe due to its integrated impedance intelligence, controlled cooling for layering and real time temperature monitoring. The Exilis Ultra’s built-in, adjustable cooling system enables the radiofrequency energy to be transmitted safely by cooling the epidermis of the skin and preventing surface damage while still causing the disruption of fat cells. This cooling factor of Exilis Ultra makes it safe for use on any part of the body that needs skin tightening or body contouring, including the face.
How is the BTL Exilis Ultra Treatment Performed?
Since the Exilis Ultra treatment is painless, no pre-anesthesia is needed. During the treatment, a hand piece is guided over the treatment area. You will feel a warm sensation as the heat energy is delivered to the targeted depth of penetration in the deeper layers of skin. The device engages the cooling system to protect the upper skin layers as it constantly monitors the skin’s temperature. Together, the deep heating and superficial cooling make for a comfortable, even treatment, avoiding the extreme hot or intensely cold spots.
The treatment will usually take about 45-60min per area.
How many treatments will I need?
For body contouring, the recommended number of body treatments is between 4 to 6 sessions. For skin tightening, the recommended number of treatments is between 2 to 4 sessions.
Treatments are usually scheduled 1-2 weeks apart.
How soon will I see results after the BTL Exilis Ultra Treatments?
Patients can see visible improvements even after the second treatment session; however, it is common to see improvements up to 6 months later. For best results, it is recommended to follow the in-between treatment instructions, maintain a healthy diet and drink plenty of water.
Does the BTL Exilis Ultra treatment hurt?
The treatments are not painful and there is no need for any anesthesia. Most patients describe the sensation of the therapy as being comparable to that of a pain free, hot stone massage.
Is there any downtime after the treatment?
There is no downtime after the BTL Exilis Ultra treatments. Also, since this is not a laser, there is no need to avoid sun exposure after the treatment. You can immediately return to your normal activities. Some pinkness and tenderness in and around the treated area may occur following the procedure, which typically resolves in a day.
