What Is ULTIMATE CONTOUR™?

ULTIMATE CONTOUR™ is an FDA-cleared low-frequency focused ultrasound and radiofrequency device that provides safe and immediate results. The noninvasive treatment improves saggy skin or stubborn fat in a specific area with this combination energy approach. Together, the energy causes a reduction in fat and circumference while inducing skin tightening and temporarily reducing the appearance of cellulite. ULTIMATE CONTOUR™ triggers metabolic processes through uniform deep tissue heating, which breaks down fats so that you can achieve your goals.

Unlike other fat reduction and skin tightening treatments, ULTIMATE CONTOUR™ is painless and provides an immediate result. It is commonly used to reduce the circumference of the abdomen and temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite.

How Does ULTIMATE CONTOUR™ Work?

ULTIMATE CONTOUR™ relies on lipolysis, a chemical process that breaks down fats and other lipids in the body to remove unwanted fat tissue deposits.

The device utilizes low-frequency ultrasound to disrupt fat cells without creating heat. During the treatment, a disruptive vibration is sent deep into the skin to break apart fat cells with no pain. The low-frequency focused ultrasound waves vibrate the fat cell’s membrane, causing it to rupture. The liquid that results from the breakage is then processed through the lymph system as the fat cell is destroyed. Results can be seen instantly after just one treatment, but the full results are typically seen following three to six treatments spaced one week apart.

ULTIMATE CONTOUR™ also features a second hand piece that targets slack skin through a unique tripolar radiofrequency (RF) technology that sends energy to heat the deeper layers of the skin where collagen lives. By reaching that layer of skin, the natural collagen production process is stimulated to help strengthen and plump the surrounding connective tissue and the dermal collagen fibers, creating smoother skin after just one treatment. The applied heat causes collagen to contract and encourages new collagen and elastin creation and growth, reducing skin laxity and creating smoother skin. RF technology is also beneficial for alleviating any minor muscle aches and pains while improving blood circulation. Patients who target stubborn cellulite using the RF modality notice smoother, more youthful-looking skin with one treatment. However, the best results are seen with two to three treatments.

The Treatment Process

During an ULTIMATE CONTOUR™ treatment, which is quick and effective, you will lie down on the treatment bed. Then, the target area is first divided into four quadrants. A conductive gel is applied to the skin to help lubricate it during the treatment so that the handpiece glides across it more easily and the energy is absorbed optimally. Next, the ULTIMATE CONTOUR™ handpiece is applied to the skin, and the device works across each of the four treatment areas, working on one zone at a time.

There is no discomfort or pain during the treatment, but some say they hear an internal ringing sound from the ultrasound energy. Most patients say the treatment is relaxing and compare it to a hot stone massage. You may experience some redness or skin tenderness immediately after the treatment, so you’ll want to avoid heat, but that typically subsides within a few hours.

The number of treatments you will need varies depending on the targeted area. Most patients benefit from six sessions. If you are undergoing ULTIMATE CONTOUR™ for fat loss, you may see changes immediately after the first treatment. For skin tightening and cellulite, it usually takes about one month or more to see improvement, as the body needs time for collagen and elastin growth to take effect. Are there any side effects?

Is there anything I need to do to prepare for my treatment?

You don't need to do much before your session, but we recommend arriving at your appointment wearing loose, comfortable clothes. Do not consume a large meal or drink before your appointment since we will be applying pressure to your body and the abdominal area for 20 to 40 minutes. It's also ideal to drink plenty of water the day before and the morning of your treatment and limit alcohol consumption for 48 hours prior, as this can interfere with the metabolism involved in the lipolysis process.

How many treatments will I need?

Everyone is different, so we recommend a consultation to determine how many treatments you will need, although typically four to six treatments one week apart are best.. Although you will likely see immediate results after your first procedure, the best results are seen following multiple treatments over two to three months.

Are the results permanent?

The improvement in skin quality should be long-lasting, and the skin should remain firm and taut for at least six to 12 months. Some patients require one to two maintenance treatments per year for optimal results. Maintaining the results of body contouring or body tightening treatments is also subject to a person's calorie intake, exercise, and lifestyle.
