What logo are Thread Lifts?

Thread lifts are a nonsurgical skin lifting procedure for the face and body. During a thread lift, specially designed threads are inserted underneath the skin to provide an instant lift effect, reducing the look of sagging skin. Threads are mainly used on the face and neck but can also be used on the body. Some of the more commonly treated areas include the eyebrows, around the eyes, the cheeks, jowls, and the neck.
Serenity MedSpa is one of the nation’s leading thread lift providers. Dr. Lisa Kang exclusively performs this procedure at Serenity MedSpa and has trained extensively with top South Korean surgeons specializing in advanced Korean thread-lifting techniques. Dr. Kang is very experienced with the thread lifting procedure and is well-versed in the various types of threads and techniques to achieve optimal results that not only last but also look natural.
At Serenity MedSpa, we offer NovaThread PDO and MINT™ PDO absorbable thread lifts. Novathreads are hypodermic needles preloaded with a synthetic PDO absorbable suture. MINT™ PDO threads are FDA-approved and are stronger threads. PDO threads safely and instantly lift loose skin on the face, neck, and body with minimal downtime.
PDO sutures, which come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and thicknesses and are either non-barbed (mainly used for collagen production and treating fine lines and wrinkles) or barbed (give more of a lifting benefit), are one of the safest materials for thread lifts and fully absorb within 4 to 9 months, depending on the specific type of threads used, without leaving any scar tissue. MINT™ PDOs are generally used on younger skin and people with heavier jowls.
Both NovaThread PDO and MINT™ PDO threads are excellent options and are used very frequently at Serenity MedSpa. At times, Dr. Lisa Kang will combine the two threads to achieve optimal results.

How Does a Thread Lift Work?

The newer thread-lifting procedures are different from the first-generation ones. The original threads were made of permanent, nonabsorbable suture materials, and once they were placed underneath the skin, they stayed forever. Today’s threads are entirely absorbable, and the body naturally breaks them down over time.

A thread lift produces a subtle lift to the skin with a more sculpted look without relying on incisions, cutting, or scars. The sutures lift and reposition the tissue into a more elevated, youthful position. Once placed, the sutures promote the skin’s fibroblast stimulation process, which stimulates collagen production over time. As the threads dissolve and the tissue heals, the skin produces collagen in the area, adding volume.

What are The Benefits of a Thread Lift?

Besides the instantly lifted results you’ll see after a thread lift, the procedures produce new collagen within the skin. A thread lift provides an immediate lifting effect as well as a regenerative effect. Other benefits of the treatment include:

The logo Treatment Process

Before your thread lift, it’s important to have a consultation to discuss your goals, medical history, and whether you are a good candidate for the treatment. Then, on the day of the procedure, the treatment areas will first be cleaned, and then numbing cream and local anesthesia utilized to numb the skin to make the procedure more comfortable.
Next, the insertion points for where the threads will be inserted into the skin are marked so there is a visible guide during the procedure. The threads are inserted under the skin using a thin needle or cannula. Once the threads are in place, they are gently pulled into position, lifting the skin and securing it into place. The skin may be massaged immediately to ensure the threads are correctly positioned. The excess thread material at the insertion points is trimmed, and the points themselves will close and quickly heal, so there’s no need for stitches.
After inserting the threads, you will be given specific post-treatment care instructions. It’s recommended to sleep with your head elevated and take it easy for a few days after your treatment. It’s also important not to touch or massage the threads or insertion points as the skin heals.
Immediately after the treatment, which takes about 30 minutes, there will be some visible lifting and even some swelling, redness, or bruising. The skin may feel tight and sore, which will subside in the coming days.
The thread lift’s lifting effects will continue to improve as the swelling resolves and collagen is produced over the next few months. About one month after the procedure, the skin will look healthier and rejuvenated with a smoother and firmer texture. These effects will continue to improve as more collagen is created within the body.

Common FAQs

The cost of a thread lift treatment varies from person to person and depends on the treatment areas. Therefore, we recommend a consultation for a detailed estimate to determine your treatment's cost.
Thread lifts are a good treatment for both men and women with mild to moderate skin laxity, sagging skin in the face and neck, and some parts of the body. The best candidates for a thread lift are those with elastic skin that snaps back into place who don't want to undergo a more traditional surgical lifting procedure like a facelift. The procedure also works well for those with minimal signs of aging and need just a tiny amount of skin lifted or those who are starting to see some droopiness of the brow, cheeks, jowls, or neck.
Before your thread lift, it is best to stop taking all blood thinners and anything else that can cause bruising or swelling. We also recommend you arrive at your appointment with clean skin and no makeup if you are able to do so.
Immediately after a thread lift, the skin will be lifted and appear less saggy. Some swelling may occur due to the anesthetics. Overall, the treated areas will be more youthful with a restored contour and more definition.

It's best to follow all post-treatment care instructions given to you, which will include the following:

  • Refraining from making significant facial expressions for about two weeks to minimize stress on the lift until the threads have fully settled.
  • Keeping the treated areas and face clean and free of makeup. You can wash your face the day after your thread lift and use makeup if needed.
  • Sleeping on your back for three days to minimize swelling and pressure (that also means no massages where you are lying face down)
  • Avoiding rubbing the face and pushing into the treatment areas and incision sites
  • Avoiding high-impact sports, strenuous exercise, or heavy lifting for one to two weeks
  • Staying out of saunas for at least two weeks.
  • Periodically icing the treatment area to minimize swelling and discomfort. You may also be instructed to use Arnica pills or patches to reduce bruising.
On average, a thread lift lasts about 12 months, but different threads give different longevity results. Some threads will fully dissolve in four to six months, while others take six to nine months. As the threads dissolve, new collagen will form, making the skin firmer and plumper. This is why the overall results of the threads last for a year or longer, depending on your skin.
The most popular thread lift treatment areas are the brows, cheeks (midface), jowls, and upper neck. However, thread lifts can be performed anywhere on the body, including loose skin on the upper arms, stomach, thighs, and around the knees.
Like any elective cosmetic procedure there are always risks. With a thread lift, there is the potential for redness, bruising, and swelling, which typically resolves in less than one week.
